Our 5-day comprehensive course is designed to thoroughly prepare dental professionals for the ORE2 examination. Covering Diagnosis and Treatment Planning (DTP), Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), and Medical Emergencies (ME), this intensive course includes a dedicated revision day with exam tips and strategies.

Course Structure

Days 1-2: Diagnosis and Treatment Planning (DTP)

Aims

– Prepare for the DTP component of the ORE2 exam.
– Familiarize with DTP process and content.
– Address gaps in knowledge and skills.

Key Topics

– Pain management cases
– Periodontal disease treatment
– Denture fabrication and fitting
– Restorative dentistry
– Prosthodontics (removable and fixed)
– Endodontics
– Tooth surface loss management
– Oral medicine

Learning Outcomes

– Enhanced theoretical knowledge in restorative and pediatric dentistry.
– Improved treatment planning skills.
– Proficient in history taking and special investigations.
– Better dentist-patient communication.

Day 3-4: Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)

Aims

– Prepare for the OSCE component of the ORE2 exam.
– Familiarize with OSCE format and expectations.
– Identify and address skill gaps.

Key Topics

– Actor Stations: Pain, Oral Lesions, TMJ Disorders, Periodontal Disease, Pediatric Dentistry, Dental Trauma, Orthodontics.
– Skilled/Written Stations: Suturing, OPA Arrangement, Intramuscular Injections, Radiographic Film Holders, Handwashing, Denture Analysis, Splinting, Rubber Dam Placement, Surveying and Partial Denture Design.

– Confidently perform OSCE skills.
– Handle challenging patient interactions.
– Stay updated on dental guidelines.
– Develop strong clinical examination skills.

Day 5: Medical Emergencies (ME)

Aims

– Train in adult and pediatric basic life support.
– Provide guidance on emergency equipment and medications.
– Manage medical emergencies in a dental setting.

Key Topics

– Basic life support (BLS)
– Managing asthma, anaphylaxis, adrenal insufficiency, angina, heart attack, epilepsy, stroke, choking, hypoglycemia, vasovagal syncope, bleeding, and needlestick injuries.
– Use of emergency equipment: Oxygen cylinder, face mask, spacer, oropharyngeal airway, intramuscular injection techniques, Epipen/Anapen, emergency medications.

Learning Outcomes

– Proficiency in resuscitation techniques.
– Effective management of medical emergencies.
– Improved first aid and symptom-based diagnosis skills.
